Schenectady Club Opening Updates - 4/11/2023
As many of you now know, either through our communications or through local news coverage, there was a fire at SPORTIME Schenectady Tuesday, April 11, 2023. A mishap involving our electrical service at the street caused a power surge in our facility that started the fire. Most importantly, everyone at the club was quickly and safely evacuated, and the Town of Rotterdam first responders were on site within minutes to extinguish the fire. We thank them, and the staff at SPORTIME Schenectady, for their amazing work.
The property damage from the fire, and from the heroic efforts to extinguish it, is, unfortunately, substantial, and the club is, as a result, temporarily closed. In the next few days we are hoping to have clarity as to whether we will be able to re-open the parts of our facility that were not damaged, including the building housing our fitness center, the tennis bubble, the outdoor courts, the pool and pool house restrooms, and other spaces with the goal of continuing to serve our members, players and campers. We are optimistic on this front, and will update you as soon as we know more!
