Ion Efrim
Ion, originally from Romania, was a top-ranked junior in his home country, as well as the European Champion in the B14 division. He spent his freshman year at the University of Texas in Arlington, and then transferred to Alabama State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in management in 2019. During his sophomore, junior and senior years, the ASU team qualified for the NCAA Championships, and Ion was named First Team in both singles and doubles in the South Western Athletic Conference. As a senior, Ion was named Player of the Year and MVP of the SWAC Conference Tournament, as well as Student-Athlete of the Year at ASU. Ion joined the SPORTIME/JMTA team in 2020.
