Mariia Borodii
Mariia, originally from Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, began playing tennis at the age of six, and played competitively as a junior. She achieved a national ranking of #1 in her home country across all junior age divisions, represented Ukraine on the National Junior Team, and achieved a career-high ITF ranking of #527. Beginning in 2018, Mariia attended Xavier University of Louisiana, where she played #1 singles and doubles, was named NAIA National Rookie of the Year, and achieved national rankings of #2 in singles and #3 in doubles. In 2020, she transferred to Fresno Pacific University, where she played #1 singles and doubles on the women’s tennis team and was named PacWest Newcomer of the Year. Mariia earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from FPU in 2022 and an MBA from FPU in 2024. She was an Assistant Coach for FPU’s men’s and women’s tennis teams, before joining the SPORTIME/JMTA team in 2025.
