Taylan Batuk

Taylan, originally from Istanbul, Turkiye, began playing tennis at the age of 11 and was one of the top junior players in his home country, achieving top-20 national rankings in the B16 and B18 divisions. He competed in ITF Junior and Futures events across Europe and was a finalist at the Dragos Open. Beginning in 2002, he attended Troy University, where he played on the men’s tennis team for four years and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2006. He continued his collegiate career at Mars Hill University, where he captained the men’s tennis team, led the program to a second-place finish in the SAC Conference, and was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete. Taylan later coached the men’s and women’s tennis teams at St. Bonaventure University, where he also earned an MBA. He has more than 15 years of coaching experience, including as an academy coach in Florida and Head of Junior Tennis at a private club, and has coached ATP, WTA and ITF players. Taylan joined the SPORTIME/JMTA team in 2025.
